According to sources...
While the judge didn't exactly say "no chance" and "sensation" is an odd choice of words making it sound more like an episode of American Idol, it's nice to see the Trib doing some actual reporting on the case, even if there's nothing new here. All too often all we get from the Trib is its African American op-ed writers attacking social justice activists.
Question of fact for a fair and impartial jury to decide, as it should be.

Not sure I understand... There are VIDEOS and that is not enough evidence
More excuses. Rain is just doing his job but all laywers are prostitutes. They don't care about the law, they care about winning (same goes for DA's). I think the judge made the proper decision. It is obvious that the Taser theory was an afterthought. If people have to think about what occurred, then they are usually lying. Let's let the jury decide this one. Mehrsle should not have even made probation as he has not spectacular cop. This incident wasn't a riot - it was 6 trained and well armed cops against no more than 10 people - most were complying.
Really? Only in America. Maybe if he would have done his job as a father, his son would not have been there in the first place. He didnt deserve to die like that but the guy was not an angel by any means. This is a joke and Burris is always around stuff that stinks.
You write that the "report's findings mirror arguments made by Mehserle's attorney" but that is not entirely true. In the preliminary hearing, Rains called two of Mehserle's fellow BART officers to testify that they heard Mehserle say he thought Oscar Grant had or was going for a gun. If that were true, then Mehserle would have deliberately chosen to use his handgun and not his taser. You see, while the corporate media has glommed onto the taser-confusion story, Rains is actually trying to have it both ways in court.
Dangerous dogs have to wear a muzzle in public. This mangy cur Weaver should get neutered at the local animal shelter, He's a snarling menace, LOck him up in the same kennel as von Brunn.
What bothers me besides the obvious death of Oscar Grant is the sheer impunity of the officers and their clear and apparent lies. The more these officers speak the more I wonder why they aren’t facing charges as well, let alone why they still have their jobs. First we hear them (the officers, and Mesherle specifically) say “I thought he was going for a gun” then we hear “I thought I was going for my taser”. So let me get this straight, you thought he was going for a gun and you decided in all of your training to use a taser?
