Acorn, a community considered as a gang.

When I heard of the arrest in the West Oakland Acorn Community I first considered the possibility of other neighborhoods being raided by the same form of a joint task force which performed last week's Tuesday arrests in West Oakland. Then upon reading many other articles I realized that what Oakland considers to be a gang and terrorist, maybe responsible for 3 dozen murders, roberies, etc. However my main concern is whether or not the officials will wait for the results of these Acorn trails before furthering their operations on other communities in Oakland or will they continue sweeping through troubled spots. I honestly believe Operation Nutcracker may have affected more then just the gang/turf/terrorist organization in the Acorn (Note: Acorn is the actual name of the community) in this case I worry officials may believe Blacks in a turf are like gangmembers, furthermore the worst type of gang members, the terrorist type. Here in Black Oakland we have "turfs" who have never considered themselves to be gangs as they are placed geographicly into their turf versus a gangs innitiation by passage rights. Where as the Acorn resembling a gang may very well be, but it is also a turf and I guess now a syndicate. This is where the most confussion is and here's my primary concern. If the Acorn is considered terrorist/gangs/and a turf then will officials use the same force demonstrated last tuesday on an unexpecting turf? Again, we don't yet know the magnitude of these trials, but for the black communities known as turfs, I have the feeling that they are all under suspicion. Notes to an unkowing reader: Oakland, West, North and East, has a history of violence, high unemployment rates, high drop out rates, and it's going through a mortgage crisis. Oakland's also going through across the board budget cuts, affecting the police department the least and schools the most. If a rich drug dealer offers you a $10,000 hand in these conditions he may not need to be charasmatic to pursway you. Due to the social unrest of our communities police view citizens as potential threats which gives us a feeling like we're bad assed. "Operation Nutcracker" may be a pun of words directed towards the Acorn crime organization, but it would have just as well suited the 2002-2003 Oakland serial killers the Nutcases.
