Ok Rob, the simple explanation is that pimping is what so many of those cool black folks (in this case men) whom you emulate do.  For practical reasons, these heroes sell poontang for a living because they realized it was safer and involved less jail time than selling crack.  When I delve into the psychological reasons the story is not nearly as pretty.  What happened there is that these pimps grew up in single parent (read: mother) homes.  Little boys love their mothers.  Then the future pimp saw his daddy or the next baby daddy come into the household and demean his beloved mother.  Daddy told her what a useless w h o r e she was and beat her up to show her who was boss.  The little boy hated seeing mom treated this way, but he was too small to do anything about it.  This cycle went on for as many baby daddys that mom hooked up with.  Then the little boy became an angry young teen selling dope and hanging on the streets.  Mom could not tell him what to do because he no longer respected her.  This lack of respect took a bigger dive when mom started hitting the pipe.  Soon enough our young hero was a man and eventually he got caught slinging, so off to jail he went.  Here is where the story of pimpology gets interesting.  The young brotha became the bottom man and actually accepted it well because of his history with his mother.  Maybe it didn't feel good physically, but the denegration involved did.  In his mind he told himself that it did not make him gay, although one would be hard pressed to agree.  Once he was out of prison our hero did what all parolees and probationers do, he went back to a life of crime.  His buddies told him about the lower sentences for pimps and the work suited him well.  With all of his self loathing and rage he found himself a 14 year old runaway girl with similar feelings of self loathing and rage and he raped her!  She didn't like it, but the denegration felt good for reasons she could not articulate (her story is just a screwed up as his.)  Then he beat her up, held a gun to her head and told her he would kill her if she told the police.  She complied.  The pimp had his first working girl, and more were to come.   The Pimpology course would not include all of this information because it would be somewhat emasculating to sit around talking about how many times you took it in the a s s in prison.  The instructors would be fully versed in this history and use it to their advantage to teach things like How to make sure she isn't $horting you and When is a good time for a beat down.  Let me know if you have any other questions Rob!
