1.Chris Long- defensive end, Virginia Raider bloodline, solid 3-4 end who would make a quick  tackle in a rotation on pass downs opposite Sapp. 2.DeShaun Jackson- wide receiver, Cal Explosive with YAC  and return ability, may slide in a draft deep at the position.                                                                                     3.Anthony Alridge- halfback, Houston He had a ten yard per carry average one year as a JR, and does returns. A mini-me of Napoleon Kaufman, with better lateral ability. May slide with size concerns. He had  8 plays over 50 yards, ran for over 200 a game three times, had a lackluster bowlk where the opponent had a month to prepare for him.. 3.The team has immediate needs, including OL, DT,DE,LB,S,and halfback depth provided Jordan may be gone.   Recent team history includes late picks at WR, let's address this early in day one if possible. If we can trade back and still get Long or DeShaun it would wonderful, but Chris Long is a big name and he had a solid final season with 14 Qb sacks, size for power playing and an end's quickness. DeShaun is at a deep position and speed at WR is still a major need. It wa shoped he'd slide but he made a great TD catch in his bowl effort, expect his stock to climb after mid-season concerns over being nicked up. Alridge also does returns and can be implemented within other parts of the game plan. There's a great small back from Oregon as well, Jonothan Stewart. The team should ofcus on players with unique abilities and Alrdige makes big plays on a level his own, Stewart may go earlier as well for the same reason and other needs have greater urgency ahead of his expected value. He's up to 5'11 and 230 lbs so teams probably project him higher for durability. The Raiders have Bush, Rhodes, possibly Fargas to consider coming back so they don't need to think about an every down player, one that makes big plays within the game plan on limited reps would work out nicely, and that looks to be Alrdige who happens to be a better pass catch back. Either of these guys would be nice and should come after the first tier backs go. They'd plug right into the Cables-Knapp run game.   Alridge is probably slated into the second day for size reasons. He'd be a smaller cheaper version of McFadden. Arguably as durable. Those guys should be high on the list. There's a LT from BC that is interesting. LT 77 Gosder Cherilus 6-7 318 SrHe played RT as well. Great drive blocker with a classic T frame for pass protection.   Jackson and Alridge each have "it" which is a way of saying they are playmakers. The team just needs to add some explosive reps to what it has established with Kiffin, physical running, control passing, now they need some speed to work in space. Cherilus played a lot, was a late bloomer at the pass protection side of Tackle but he is a bona fide sledge hammer for run blocking. It would be nice to see the team work these guys and trade some on next year's value as well to move up in this coming draft. Get those four players early, add late guys with motors like Nevada's Justin Jackson into round seven. The team may be due a compensatory pick with Mike Williams' departue as well, that may have placed the team on the minus side of roster aquisition/departures.   One of those players(Alrdige ) may be near that range. 1.Long 2.Jackson 3.Cherilus 4.Alridge(comp) The team then adds hustle and motors, value types. Linebacker's really deep so there should be guys who fall into early day two we could have a slot for... A center would be nice also, doubtful we draft high there with glaring needs at other spots. Free agency may answer that. Safety would be nice to get a Landry or Harrison out there, those rarely emerge. Add some late players who can develop, or sign a FA there(traditionally it is the last roster position to fill and we've already got our high value leader there in Huff). Our third LB can be a development player, he's off the field in nickle and dime anyways so we can go for value instead of prestige there. Long boosts pass rush, Jackson adds speed, then we beef up the line and add athletic potential day two. Alridge can be something great in the right place. Kiffin has offensive minds able to use his aggressive ability, let's add that catalyst to the mix. Then Cherilus boosts the OL. Baker from USC might slide since 6'5 isn't really considered tackle range and he'd fit a zone scheme. With all of that there's still need at DT as well. It looks more like Kelly will position there in time. Long as a versatile DE lets the team move Kelly closaer to the ball where he can get a faster jump on the snap.
