What does the record number of voters really mean? I am not so sure that it has everything to do with the shape this Country is in. Since you just have to be a resident to register to vote, I see the record numbers coming from the record-breaking number of illegal immigrants. We give them jobs, we rent to them, we try to educate their children and give them SSI, disability benefits, Welfare and many other resources taxpayers pay for. Point being, they register in record numbers - no questions asked. That bothers me in a big way because I, personally, don't want any illegal immigrant having a say about the way my Government should be run. Of course this voter delima is nothing new - but it sure is way out of control and our Representatives insist on making it very easy to drop the "illegal" out of illegal immigrant and their right to vote in the United States of America.

With no documentation or proof, nothing but bias, the right has offered up another urban myth because it's unaware of the political work going on in this country to register new voters. And if it is repeated often enough the right hopes it will become established fact. Yes to those who are also biased with an axe to grind.
Yes, the landlord who is getting his mortgage paid by illegals by renting to them is really suffering in this country along with the employer who exploits them.

Illegal/Undocumented immigration is a problem, but these people cannot vote because they cannot register. Even if there are a few irregularities, this won't be sufficient to influence election outcomes. As for the problem of providing rent, employment, and government benefits to undocumented workers, that certainly is a problem and there are no easy solutions. Minimally, there needs to be (1) an effective legal process by which immigrants can enter the US in order to fill these much needed jobs, and (2) punishment towards companies who continue to employ undocumented workers so that they can exploit cheap labor, and (3) more secure borders to prevent future illegal entry. If the jobs are not needed, then the undocumented workers should head back to their own country, and the remaning jobs filled by documented immigrants and citizens. I don't know the solution for the million or so illegal immigrants that are already here. It's not easy to grant amnesty if that only means another million immigrants coming in illegally to take there place. Therefore, if the three points above are not applied first, I don't see amnesty being a solution.

This is America, you can vote to change the laws and you can protest and get signatures on a petition or you can just cry like a bigot, I see what choice you have made, now what?
