The Raiders will continue to struggle with Davis at the helm. In his heyday, Davis was a ruthless competitive owner who by virtue of great players, good coaching and a sizeable amount of luck created a team that became a dominant force in the National Football league.. His ruthlessness enabled him to gain control and ownership of the Raiders; created for he and the Raiders advantages and triggered a powerful/loyal fan base..
With age, that "ruthless competitive edge" morphed into a distorted paranoid view of reality effecting all his coaching, player decisions and football philosophy. With his paranoia exposed he is now unable to gain the respect or philisophical consensus from coaching staff and team members. There is no buy in; no overall confidence-a critical requirement for such an intense team game. His latest attack on former team quarterback/current football analyst, Rich Gannon, exposes Davis's mean spirited, grandiose view of criticism, further cementing his inability to deal with reality and reinforcing the dysfunctional bitter old man, unable to forge a clear real vision so necessary for team success in the National Football League...

To all so called raiders fans that wish Mr. Davis dead. You should quit pretending your a fan of my team,Mr. Davis is a great man.He cannot play for these guys.Ask any old players about Mr. Davis they will tell you he is still as sharp as a tack. The players nowadays are more concerned about the amount of money they are paid, instead of playing hard on sundays and working hard during the week, not every player but a good amount of them.Have you spent any time after a game and seen them leave the facility? Most won't even look at you let alone wave.Hell the fans are making it possible for them to make the high dollar.I love the raiders win or lose,it's hard to swallow a loss, hell yes it is,but I will suffer though it and not blame Mr. Davis. My son and I spent at least an hour after the last game just to catch a glimpse of Mr. Davis it was an honor, and we will do it again the next game. Our team is loaded with talent, but sometimes it doesn't show,so instead of blaming Mr. Davis blame the guys with the talent making millions and millions of dollars.Jamarcus needs to work super hard, watching film, throwing to get his timing down,so the recievers don't have to stop to try to catch the ball.If you don't like our owner find another team you will not be missed. To all REAL RAIDER FANS we will be back just keep the faith if you have bad things to say about the team or management,or any aspect of the team talk among real fans not pretend fans.

nobody's pretending. As a diehard fan you should still be able to comment on your team bad or good. Lets face it the team is a disgrace and it starts with the krypt keeper and his ancient playbook, he needs to step aside and let someone who knows the game help the team. Unless you have been in a cave the last 20 yrs and your comments do resemble that, the krypt keeper runs team and no one makes a move unless skelator say's so. i m not sure what games your watching judging by your comments you dont know much about the game. Wathc more film and work on his timing, please he cant throw the ball within 10 yards of the receiver. Who do you think is paying the money duh the same person who picked jfatty non working Russell. Face it Al is washed up, So let the team improve by the Krypt keeper leaving the team to competent football minded coaches and then you can honor the man who did much for football, he no longer has it that's just fact, so it's suckers like you that dont speak up much like our puppet coaches who dont have a pair that runs our team into the ground. So sense you claim to be a real fan yep im talking to you, you might as well cut your pair off give them to the krypt keeper and call the plays right next to him, sO aL DAVIS go away and quit stinking up our team and take all the people who just like you dont understand how to play the game GO RAIDERS

I've spoken to ex players for many years, legends who know the game that I base my statements on.People who are much closer to the team then I am or some person like you who it appears the only constructive thing you have to add is name calling. If he works on his timing he would be able to make the throws.Peyton Manning was not a terrific player when he started ,but by working his tail off he has became a very good quarterback, but you will think what you want. Maybe you should talk to some players that didn't make millions and millions of dollars yet have a ring or two on their fingers, instead of swilling beer all day long.I am not a professional football player no doubt but either are you ,if you would like to have a real coversation come to section 220 anytime you would like. Mr. Davis pays these men to play,he cannot play for them.

You people are completely missing the point. Davis cannot play for them? It's the players that won't/can't play for him because they have no confidence in his vision. That's why they play so poorly. You think the Raider personnel is inferior to the rest of the rosters in the National Football league? They are as talented as any roster in the league.
The game of football must be played with team unity and team confidence. Those two entities feed off each other and create a powerful physical force much greater than each individual's ability. You cannot have either with leadership that is dysfunctional. Davis has exposed himself in his latter years as a bitter paranoid old man whose leadership fosters a head coach punching out an assistant coach. Leadership is in chaos. And that is why the team plays so poorly. Place Jamarcus Russell, a giant talent, on any team with functional leadership and he would excell...

7268 (Krypt Keeper guy) is funny, but his assessment of the Raiders is true! Zinn21 intelligently & accurately critiques the Oakland Raiders in a nutshell. Bottom line: Al has to go. In these hard economic times, Raider Fans are watching this team's management with comtempt and disgust. Look at the Moss debacle. Look at the poor drafts picks. Look at the handling of the CBS commentator. Look at the head coach's "beat-down" of another coach. Look at the money thrown at maginal NFL talent. Look at the attendance. Look at the product on the footbal field. Look the their record. The Raiders are the worst team in the NFL in the last 100 games played (25-75 = .250 winning %). Do you really believe this team is going to turn it around while AD is in charge? I don't and they won't. After 10 seasons of not missing a home game, hey've changed my thinking.

My friend, you just made the point everybody else knows.....Jmarc is NOT gonna work his tail off to become like PManning or TBrady. That rotound-fur-and-diamond-wearing cupcake-eater is NOT interested in becoming a super NFL QB. And I promise you this "HE will NEVER take any team to the Superbowl". There are so many players in the NFL (from JMarc's class and later) who are so much better. It makes me sick to think of how in the past 20 years WE can never can draft a player who steps right in and makes the NFL take notice. Who's ineptness? We've picked in the top 10 for the past 7 years. It's sad.

To think that Al Davis is not what is ruining the Raiders, then you are insane as he is!!! This guy WAS great, this guy DID have an eye for talent, and this guy USED TO know how to run a franchise.... But that is far in the past!! I am a REAL RAIDER FAN, But im also not blind! I dont refuse to see how damn horrible we have become thanks to Al's eratic moves to hire puppets as coaches and staff, and his lust to draft speed instead of all around skills!!! Not just a Real Raider fan but a normal human being can see that he has run our team into the ground!!! For example... We have a QB who throws bullets when he passes and we need a top notch WR with our top 10 pick in the draft. SO WE DRAFT A FAST WR WITH NO HANDS TO CATCH THE BULLETS OUR QB THROWS????? How insane is that??? In 4 games he has only caught 2 passes!!! Our Homerun hitter McFadden.... HURT AGAIN!! The guy we traded for Randy Moss we just cut and i never even knew who the heck he was!!! And can anyone forget we drafted Huff instead of Cutler or the next year with picking Russell instead of Adrian Peterson??? Where would we be if we drafted those 2 guys instead of the 2 we did pick??? Look, Al is a Hall of Famer and he deserves it!! But just like anything in life, YOU MUST EVOLVE AND PROGRESS, not stay in your same OLD WAYS!!!!

That is about as accurate an analysis of Al Davis in a few sentences as you will find..

I've been a Raider and Al Davis fan for over 25 years. He has made many brilliant and lucky decisions that made the Raiders great. However, those days are over. No one can tell me that giving Randy Moss away for a 4th round pick and giving up a 1st round pick for Richard Seymour was a good decision. I'm not saying Seymour isn't a great player. I'm just saying the trades were strongly in New Englands favor. Add this up with all the other questionable decisions he's made over the last 6 years (Trading Gruden, drafting most everyone in the last 6 years) and you have a guy that's acting out of spite and desperation.
The Moss trade should have been our Herschel Walker trader. But instead, New England got one of the greatest receivers of all time and we ended up with nothing. The beginning of the end of the Al Davis is great era can be traced back to he benching of Marcus Allen. From that point on he has made fewer and fewer great decisions and an ever increasing amount of bad decisions. It's not surprsing that we haven't won a superbowl since then ether. I'll stay a fan till the day I die, but I'm not going to apologize for a man that's clearly lost it anymore than I will for a quarterback that simply doesn't have what it takes to be a franchise quarterback in this league.

Please someone with deep pockets. Someone who loves football and the cities by the bay. Some forward thinking person of sound mind and body needs to buy the Raiders and restore reason, hope, and an ounce of goodness. First new owner, second new franchise quarterback, third, fifth to be determined by number one. Please... really, really with sugar on top.

...for anything. I used to think that a billion might be enough. Hell, if I had it I would at least call him up and ask but I really think that he would say, "No, but I'll sell you 5% for $50 mil." He'll piecemeal it out for some operating cash, but the only way he will give up control of the organization is when he is dead. His comment a couple of years ago about winning two more Super Bowls before retiring? He knows it's not going to happen. Besides, that was probably before the Steelers won two more Super Bowls. I'm sure his goal is at least four more Super Bowls before he dies so that he can say he won the most of any current owner. As long as he draws breath he will be involved. And I have a strange feeling that he is going to be around for at least six more head coaching changes. Of course, the way he is going through them lately that's like four years from now. That's another 64 games of futility...

Big Al.......I really used to love this guy. The more others would make nasty comments about him, the more respect I had for him. This isn't the case anymore. This old[bleep] has seen his days. It's time to relax and wear your depends Al. The Raiders have become the most joked about sports organization ever. Going from most feared to most joked about. Pathetic is the only word that works here. Definition of insanity: Doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result. Raiders = Insanity.
