I lived in the Bay Area most of my life and this isn't the first time someone jumped in front of a BART train to end it all...

It's very tragic. The man struck was Devendra Shukla, a noted Poet of Hindi language. He composed humorous and general types of poetry in Hindi, and many of them have been published in leading Hindi publications. He had appeared in many conventions where he presented his unique compositions. He was an ardent supporter of Hindi language and a respected member of the World Hindi Foundation. He is survived by his wife, two kids, and his pet dog and horse. Indian community in the Bay area and Hindi world are at a loss at his untimely departure. May God provide peace to the departed soul and strength to his family and friends.
Rameshwar Singh, President, SF Chapter of Vishwa Hindi Foundation
