I'm on one this morning!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY IS THE ONLY METHOD OF HELP FOR YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICANS(ONLY IN THE CITY OF OAKLAND) IS DESTRUCTION?? IF THE CITY WOULD STOP WAISTING OUR MONEY FUNDING REFERREL SERVICES AND FIND A PROGRAM THAT IS HANDS ON WE MIGHT SEE A CHANGE!!!!!!! UNTIL CITY HALL GETS IT WE WILL FACE THE SAME PROBLEM NO MATTER HOW MANY POLICE THEY HIRE!!!!!!! LETS THROW THEM A ROPE. IF THESE PEOLPLE WANTED TO COMMIT SUICIDE THEY WOULD KNOCK THEIR OWN BRAINS OUT. OBVIOUSLY THEY WANT TO LIVE, BUT THE PEOPLE GETTING PAID TO HELP THEM COULD CARE LESS. JUST KEEP THEIR CHECKS COMING! THESE ARE LIVES THAT YOU ARE GUESSING WITH NOT HAMSTERS BUT HUMANS!!!!!!

To: The Trouble I See The people who work in restaurants and the folks who dine there want to live also. I am sick to death of these young thugs of ALL COLORS making our streets a war zone. I am sorry that their parents, who should be responsible for raising them, are either dead, drugged or in prison, but that sad fact doesn't make it ok for them to make Oakland the 4th most dangerous place in the US. My kids deserve to live too. I want more cops in Oakland to protect the innocent children at piano lessons and the people who are in danger just going to sleep in thier own beds at night. It is fine with me if you put all these young criminals in prison, in fact you can take their parents too for all I care. Not very PC of me, is it? I don't care, I just want some law and order and I really don't care what the cost is to the criminals. Enough of this gulity liberal rhetoric, innocent people alseep in their beds are dying in Oakland. Get rid of the useless mayor too and Jean Quan, public enemy #1. No, Ms Quan, you do not have to worry about being shot in the head in San Ramon, but you sure do here. How does she keep getting re-elected when she has absolutely no understanding of the problems in her own city? Oh yeah, I forgot, lots of liberals up there in the hills.

MOST OF THESE YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HAD A CHANCE AT LIFE BORN ADDICTED TO DRUGS. ALL I'AM SAYING IS LETS TRY TO SHOW THEM A DIFFERENT WAY OF LIVING WHAT HARM IS IN THAT? THEY HAVE ALREADY TRIED LOCKING THEM UP, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY GET RELEASED? AS I STATED PRIOR, WE ARE DEALING WITH DEAD OR IN JAIL WHICH THEY PERCIVE TO BE AN OPTION WHEN IT IS THE PLAN AND HAS BEEN AS WE CAN SEE! (LETS CHANGE IT)HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO JAIL OR HAD NO FOOD? (WHICH IS A QUESTION NOT A STATEMENT) AND I AGREE WITH YOU ON A COUPLE OF YOUR POINTS JUST NOT LOCKEM UP AND FORGET ABOUT THEM. CRIMINALS DONT THINK ABOUT THE POLICE! AND HOW YOU KNOW IS HOW MANY REPEAT OFFENDERS DO WE HAVE? WE NEED TO TRAIN THEM!

oakpundit When are the people in Oakland going to demand that women receiving public subsidies for housing do not get paid for second and third children while they are on welfare? Whey are we going to demand that drug addicts who have born more than one child and are still drug addicted have some kind of permanent birth control put in them until such time as they are non-addicted, self supporting and can lead productive lives starting with parenting? As a society it is our right to determine whether or not we should support those having children and bearing more children while on public weflare. Many adults cannot have children and pay for a mortgage yet we are paying those to bear children and be resopnsible who have no mortgage payments and receive Section 8 housing and AFDC. Why are we supporting women's ability to have children on welfare and not paying for daycare and helping women who are working? Why are we publically supporting and promoting dysfunctionality and drug-addicted children as a society? This is self-destructive as a society and that's what we are seeing in Oakland and other places--an insane social policy decision that enables women who are drug-addicted to bear children. Then they are fostered out to the women's family members who then get monies from the foster system. The whole system is sick and needs to stop. I have never seen this addressed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. I personally know a woman who is a drug addict who has borne l0 children, evey one of which has been removed from her care. Alameda County, Oakland, why are you allowing this to continue? Criminal neglect of children, public subsidization of contiued criminal negligence? These are the public policies in Alameda County. And yes, we need drug rehabilitation--mandatory-- and those who don't participate and clean up will have to be institutionalized for life. Most importantly, what can we do to STOP THE CYCLE? Contact your Alameda County Supervisor now.

I wouldn't usually say the things I am about to say. I keep the tragedy of my rotten childhood tucked away most days, but you ask me "have you ever been to jail or had no food"? I spent the first 14 years of my life with a crazy mother and an alcoholic father. Release (if you could call it that) came at 14 when I found my father right after he had killed himself. I could go on and on about the trainwreck that was my childhood by why should I? Will it help anyone? Believe me when I tell you, that I more than most, understand what it's like to be a kid alone in the world. I was in foster care at 14 and an emancipated minor at 16. Somehow, I evaded crime, pimps, alcoholism, mental illness and most drugs. I got as much education as I could afford, got a job and worked by a** off. It wasn't easy, in fact it was damned hard, but I'll tell you one thing IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT. The last thing we should do is pity these kids, our pity won't help them. Thank God there was no turf dancing instructor like the one at Youth Uprising around to "help" me when I ran away at such a young age! We need to put these kids in the BEST schools, not these idiotic non-profit fiascos and we need to talk straight to them. Tell them it's a crying shame that they were born into such a mess, but also let them know that they and only then can save themselves. Stay in school, make a good life for yourself. It can be done, but pity and not holding them accountable for their bad behavior will not get them to where they need to be. More than any other kids, these kids need our strength, they need our Tough Love and they need it now. Demand more police, demand more juvenile judges, demand that their be ramifications when these kids commit crimes. Give them the structure and discipline their parents cant or wont. Its the only way they'll survive. I know because someone did it for me.

Thank you for being so honest about your life and all of its painful tragedy. I suspect that many reading my posts would think that you and I have little in common. That could not be farther from the truth. I appreciate your willingness to speak openly on the subject, and to be as realistic as your were in your post. My hat is off to you!
