I am neither a Dem or Rep, I am an Indpendent voter. I vote issues, not parties. That being said, I no longer consider the Nobel Peace prize one of any importance. How can Obama get a peace prize for saying he wil do a certain thing but has not as yet done it? If that is the way people are rewarded, I should be given a degree in Medicine and recognition as a miracle worker because I have said if I were smart enough and rich enough I would find a cure for all cancers and give it free to all those suffering with the disease.
Give us a break, Obama is all talk and no substance. HIs stimulus plan has cost us as taxpayers millions of dollars and has not created even one job. His health plan will cost us. the taxpayers trillions of dollars. When he does something to get Americans back to work and stops intruding on our freedoms, stops rapeing the Medicare program, and raising our taxes then he wil have done something important, so far he gets an F from me
Wake up America don't let this man destroy our country and take away our freedoms.

I guess you didn't know that the freedom to be unemployed is a hallmark of true freedom. What do you want, a complete welfare state where the government provides you a job as well?
Guess you didn't know that in some states like California the stimulus bill saved 100,000 public worker jobs.
In order for the stock market to continue going up they had to layoff millions of working in this country in order to keep maximizing profits. That's what freedom means in America. Maximum profits. If you don't like it, go to a socialist country. But this is what a capitalist democracy and freedom mean. Unemployment, continuous war, the end of public education and services, etc. and outsourcing your job to another country. Don't like it, too bad!

It was an incentive for Obama to continue along working with the Europeans to pressure nations who have signed the nuclear disarmament treaty like both Israel and Iran along with Pakistan and other countries. This is how a member of the committee explained it publically. You are confusing the various categories that the Nobel Prize is given in. There has bee a precedent in previous years for doing this. It was a smart move by the Europeans but ignorant ill-informed Americans who are unaware of the importance of nuclear disarmament in the world wouldn't comprehend this.

--- What you SHOULD say is: this is what does happened when greed is taught as a good thing and that christian ethics as well as other religious ethical teachings are taught to be mythology and to be ignored. When liberal left media constantly teaches or shows kids day in and day out that ethical teachings as the 10 commandments or the 10 Precepts of Buddhism or the 5 Principles of Hinduism are just mythology, BUT that witchcraft, magic, scientology, nostrodomic prognostications, séances, and satanism are all being the TRUTH and gospel! What just did you and all others expect was going to be happening when this did happen?

--- I think it goes like that because all the media does play is the far out wackest weirdoes because that is all that they think catches the american audience now. I think they have to go back to when all things shown do have to have a ethical balance. Good almost always wins out over bad and evil. As right now it is the lefty idea that it is very cool to have the bad guys win and that is teaching kids that is a good thing when they should learn that good should win. Same as with greed guys. If you don't want us to be all greedy then don't tell us always that having all the toys and cashola is best always in every movie that we do see, because the weak minded ones actually believe that stuff after they do watch it a hundred times.
--- Anyways that is what I do think when I see your comment Traveler. I hope it does make some sense, I don't know if maybe I always say what I want the complete right way but I tried. None of my friends were here today to correct any of this stuff for me so it probly has a lot of errors just so you know I know it has some stuff that is wrong.

--- I would not laughed too very loud there. Who would ever have thought it that he would have a NPP, but they gave him it. I am wondering maybe that if I do now stop a fight out in our athletic field and I will write a blog pleading for Iran and Russia and China and others to make peace, not war. If I do that then I will be just as eligible by the criteria they said they picked him for the NPP. Because I tried to make peace I should get one just as he did. What do you think?

--- Only I will add this. I was looking at who has been winning the prizes when we had to look some up for classes and I figured out that I can find no place else where they give a Nobel Prize for trying and not succeeding. Never have they given Nobel Prizes for guys who tried very very hard at chemistry but just couldn't do it, always it is for the guy who DID do it. Same as for Physics. Never they gave the prize to the guys who failed to make the new great medicine and only they gave it to the guys who wroted the great books, not to those who tried hard and could not just do a good one. As far that I think this is only the category I find which they give a prize for doing a flop and not succeeding.
