" Andrew Klavan visited a fourth-grade inner-city classroom where the importance of the culture war arrived in the form of small, bewildered faces: Culture, in the true sense, is more than that. It’s the whole engulfing narrative of our values. It’s the stories we tell. Leftists know this. These kids get an earful from the Left every day. Their schools serve up black history in a way guaranteed to alienate them from the American enterprise. Their sanctioned reading list denies boys the natural fantasies of battling villains and protecting women from harm. Any instinct the girls might have that their bodies and their self-respect are interrelated is negated by the ubiquitous parable of celebrity lives. And I hardly need mention the movies and TV shows that endlessly undermine notions of manly self-discipline, feminine modesty, patriotism, and all the rest. Conservatives respond to this mostly with finger-wagging. But creativity has to be answered with creativity. We need stories, histories, movies of our own. That requires a structure of support—publishing houses, movie studios, review space, awards, almost all of which we’ve ceded to the Left. While conservatives won elections the last thirty-years, the left infested schools, universities, the entertainment industry, news media, and publishing. They understand politics follows the culture, not the other way around. Conservatives have done well grabbing back a piece of publishing and the news media, but have a long way to go with entertainment and educational institutions.  No one suffers the poison of liberalism more than the poor. No one. " (Libertas)

This quote is classic conservative propaganda and claptrap. Sounds like something out Rush Limbaugh's or Coulter's mouths which spew their anti-liberal hatred daily and blame liberalism for everything wrong in this country.  While I'm no fan of liberalism, I'm no fan of Limbaugh's or Coulter's who in my opinion are about as ignorant as the ignoramuses they write and spew forth too. And let's distinguish the "left" from liberalism.  The left doesn't own any corporations or control anything in this country either in Congress or the economic sector.  And while corproate America capitalizes off of liberalism, so does "conservative" America.  This quote is typical of conservative thinking.  It's devoid of any economic, historical or political context.  The biggest changes in the past 8 years under a neo, ultra conservative President have been economic--the greatest tranfer of wealth has occurred in this country from the poor and middle class to the wealthy.  The safety net and social programs enacted under President Roosevelt have been torn, shredded and wiped out.  The college loan program is being gutted and students are graduating with an average of $50,000 worth of debt.  The young people in this country no that something drastically has to change and that the problems don't stem from "liberalism" or the left.  While people waste their time pointing their ignorant fingers at "leftists" and "liberalism", people die daily from lack of health care in this supposedly civilized nation.     Traveler

And I forgot to mention the economy has just lost jobs for the fifth straight month in a row.  Where are all these disadvantaged poor young kids being oppressed by liberals and leftists going to work Backrow?  But let's not talk about that.  Your username is nist appropriate.
