I've read about the maximum operating temperatures for mobo's and the chip im running (a Q6600) and was having problems with the computer shutting dont randomly. Eventually I found this was due to dust but today did the same thing. The computer is spotless inside but the CPu was running at 65 C idle My sytem then shut down and refuses to boot. The mobo lights come on but the fans, hard drive or anything else refuses to respond when the power button is pushed. I allowed the CPU to cool and applied more thermal paste and tried the power again to no avail.

I'm stuck for any idea as to what is wrong with the system.
