I really believe they are on the verge of having to release several players in the offseason and going with a different cast altogether. I dont think they have the mindset of a winner built, nor do they fight for the entire game once they fall behind. They are in most need of an identity and a lot of "franchise" type players with high cap numbers (McFadden, Walker, in particular have no answers). Possibly 11 players will either not be re-signed or traded They simply do not have the right talent meshed together in this and havent found continuity. It'll be interesting to see if Russell will be limited to handing the ball off next year.

I agree Raider Sam. 11 may be a "light" number. There are several things that the Raiders should (but will not) do. First they need to hire a competent General Manager, sorry, Al's track history the last few years has been HORRIBLE. It is plain as day that Russell is a bust, put someone else in at QB that will give us a chance to win. Again today, JaSuckus showed how bad he really is. Heyward-Bey should not be starting, he was a waste of a pick, and would not even make the roster on most competetive teams. Murphy is a at best a 2nd stringer, maybe a good look at Marvin Harrison? Why not at this point?

Harrison is probably done. If he wasnt, he'd be signed by now. Chambers was picked up by the Chiefs....Harrison would be good in terms of preparation, but maybe the gun incident scared off the Raiders? Raiders would need a vet to come in and sit Russell for the year - Pennington would be perfect, and another guy who would merit a long, close look would be .... Trent Edwards.

Marvin Harrison is a good idea and why not start Javon Walker for a game (benching Heyward -Bey)? The bottom line is that you still need someone to throw throw ball and we don't have that in our starting QB. I have been preaching for weeks that management has to do something to show the Team and fans that poor performance is not the status quo. While last week's benching was supposed to be a wake up call for Russell , it should have come three blowouts earlier. The same shake up has to occur through the rest of the offense too. Doing nothing sends a dangerous message to Players and Fans alike , one that says "Here you have it,take it or leave it, cause it's all you get" . Benching a player(s) shows everyone that Management acknowledges there is a problem , they are addressing it, and trying to get things back on the right track. The Russell benching also brought to light some serious character flaws in our "franchise Quarterback". In numerous articles after the game Russell deflected his poor performance on to his teammates, and led us to believe that he enjoyed the job of being demoted to that of a sideline cheerleader. Hardly leadership qualities. A shake up is needed on the entire offense, and the Team should start to examine their options in the upcoming draft and look for a viable Quarterback to draft. Millions of reasons to keep JAthreeandout , I know, but all of them are the wrong reasons and the team should eat the loss and move on. This is truely one player you don't have to worry about hurting you, or making your coaching Staff look bad if he goes to another team. Ignore the money and let the kid go, he isn't smart enough to grasp being a Pro level Quarterback and you and you can't infuse brains .
