Resevoirman, the local politicos think a curfew violates someone's civil rights, so they accede to the ACLU ( which used to be cool, before they started defending the bad guys). Of course, as always happens, our civil rights get trampled: the right to be safe in our homes, on our streets, in our cars: the right to peaceful enjoyment of our neighborhood, the right to clean streets and honest commerce. I don't know why these are not important to city council. A curfew would be a useful tool for public safety.

Yesterday I read a Jan.2009 thread briefly revived here by someone. In it, there were so many posts by bluepeas that lacked her trademark misspellings, street-speak, and texting abbreviations, that I wondered if, wow!, she actually used to be a Political History Studies professor!? But Google Search soon burst my bubble! Alas, it showed various scholarly sites + blogs that her grammatically flawless passages had been copied & pasted from verbatim, that she passed off as her own words. ...I just quit counting after 4 different site URLS and 1 rave for her having posted "her best post EVER!"

I knew it wouldn't take long for bluepeas to "testify" about how her lil' cuzzo was at grandma' house when 'shots rang out!' See her post under the heading Four injured in Oakland shootings ( Tuesday, 6/30/2009 - 7:39 a.m. PDT — sj marine). It is a classic bluepeas story with her knowing who the shooter is, the caliber of the handgun and not telling the police. But it is OPD's fault that no one is ever arrested. Perhaps someone should tell OPD to get her number so that they can find out which of her family to arrest after the next shooting.

I think this rises to a level worthy of a HATE CRIME enhancement....Indeed!!!!! Hatred of Law Enforcement. I mean why should the enhancement only be limited violent anti-semites and anti-minority types. I dont suppose this little !@$!!%@!$ fired on officers out of extreme adoration?? Smells of hatred to me.... In fact, all attempted/successful murders should include the enhancement with the exception of preservation of life or property. Perhaps the added time the enhancements provides to the perps sentence, could be a counter weight to the plea bargain.

The ghosts of these atrocities are swept away as you press forward to apprehend even though you will receive no more money whether you catch the kid or not; only the night would know cowardice if it saw it. Forward you run. A shot rings out but you bravely press on knowing now that your life is in imminent risk. An arrest, certainly, will accompany a complaint and potential civil liability but you are urged to perform your job for noble reasons - not for the ungrateful citizens who protest. You blindly corner a turn on foot, your partner behind you, when you look into the eyes of your worst enemy and fear…it’s DeLaFuente with a 10% pay cut notice. ARGHHHHHHH!
