My youngest sister was expected to fly out Saturday for her college's last chance( and by last chance I mean the college closed for good last weekend) to win a prestigious competition for an organization called SIFE. However, she recently became sick with the flu. When we called US Airways to see if they could reissue her original Saturday flight to Sunday, when the doctor said it would be safe, we were told no. The airline refused by saying "We would rather infect the entire population of her flight with the flu, than reissue her a new ticket". I find it interesting that they would flat out say that and also allow a person with the flu to fly when there is a Swine flu epidemic going about. What a great way to cause unnecessary concern among the people by allowing for them to catch something similar to swine flu and panic.
